Q

how many times did john wesley try to mary?

John Wesley responded on 08/31/2010
A

He has married twice.

Q

Do you really dig Michael Hedges stuff or were you just pulling my chain?

John Wesley responded on 08/27/2010
A

Why would I pull your chain? I don't have time for that or questions like this. Whether or not I like Hedges is irrelevant. He was a genius. I like him..so what.

Ask me a relevant question.

Q

Can you name 10 records which are according to you essential albums?

John Wesley responded on 08/26/2010
A

too many albums to name.....no one set of ten really....

Q

John, who are your favorite guitarists? I mean, someone who made you pick up the guitar and express yourself through it?

John Wesley responded on 08/25/2010
A

Eric Clapton with Cream was one of the first....and hearing him on Bel Bottom Blues really continued that....Alex Lifeson was next, and still remains as a major influence. Jeff Beck and Dave Gilmore.....

These days I love Warren Haynes....

Q

We want you to come to Dominican republic!!

John Wesley responded on 08/25/2010
A

I would love to....

Q

Love to see you live, when are you next touring UK or New York area? Thanks. Jkc

John Wesley responded on 08/23/2010
A

I will be performing onstage with Porcupine Tree on September 24th at Radio City Music Hall. There are tickets still available, come on down...JW

Q

for the 1000000th time, why arrenĀ“t you a member of Porcupine Tree? :)

John Wesley responded on 08/23/2010
A

Well, in essence, I am a "member" of Porcupine Tree, I am a "touring member". The band lineup expands for live touring, but for the writing and recording process, they have no need for the extra guitarist, or the extra creative input.

So it is really about what works best for the band....and in the live setting, I am a part of that unit.

Q

Why do you like Prs guitars in particular?

John Wesley responded on 08/20/2010
A

I come from an era in the 70's where it was possible to get really well built, "Classic" Les Pauls and Strats....as time went on, production standards changed, and it became more difficult to purchase guitars of the standard that I require. When a friend at a music store introduced me to PRS in 1989, I found that these guitars were built with the same care and quality and tone that I had come to love in the instruments that I fell in love with years ago. PRS makes guitars that come out of the store playing and sounding as good as anything as I had ever owned. As I grew as a player, my requirements on how a guitar should sound, and perform became even more stringent. PRS continues to make guitars that live up to my standards....so I continue to play them.

Q

best wishes and i hope you visit Mexico with your own project... i love your amazing sound on guitar and your voice. i want to ask if you are satisfied with all the things you do and you are. cheers!!

I love Mexico and hope to return there someday with my own band. As to being satisfied, well....I am happy, but never satisfied. I also want to improve, I always look to make things even better, to sound better, play better, write better and to "evolve" as an artist. So happy...yes...satisfied...never.
